Catalog status: Midwest’s former SMOK TF-D 5.5mL record, SKU MG-9009, is a legacy catalog identity. Its old product URL now redirects to the Atomizer Tanks archive, so this guide must not be read as a current stock or ordering promise. It remains useful for identifying an existing TF-D tank, choosing the correct D-Coil family and preventing version mistakes.
Identify the complete TF-D Subtank
SMOK’s official name is TF-D SUBTANK. “Replacement Subtank” in the former Midwest title described the retail purpose; it did not mean replacement glass alone. A buyer requesting a complete tank, a glass tube, a seal or a coil needs a different part record.
The reviewed Midwest record attached 5.5mL to MG-9009. SMOK’s official TPD product list separately names 2mL, 3.5mL and 5.5mL TF-D versions. That confirms the 5.5mL version exists, while also showing why capacity must be printed on the purchase order rather than inferred from the family name.
| Identity check | Evidence | Buyer control |
|---|---|---|
| Legacy Midwest SKU | MG-9009 | Use only to reconcile an old invoice or support record. |
| Manufacturer model | TF-D SUBTANK | Do not substitute TF Tank, TFV, TFV9 or T-Air. |
| Capacity version | 5.5mL in the old Midwest record | Confirm exact market version on the carton. |
| Component requested | Tank, coil, glass or seals | Record the specific component before quoting. |
Use the D-Coil family, not a look-alike coil
The official SMOK X-PRIV SOLO page pairs the TF-D with the D-COIL Series and positions it for direct-to-lung use. SMOK’s official materials identify three D-Coil resistances: 0.15Ω, 0.23Ω and 0.4Ω.
- 0.15Ω Meshed D-Coil: SMOK’s official kit article specifies 55–65W.
- 0.23Ω Meshed D-Coil: the same official article specifies 45–55W.
- 0.4Ω D-Coil: officially listed in the family, but this review did not find a manufacturer wattage range on the pages used here. Read the coil or manual rather than copying a retailer value.
A similar diameter, press-fit shape or SMOK logo is not compatibility proof. Keep D-Coil inventory separate from other SMOK coil families and require the printed family name at the counter.
Keep verified device pairing narrower than mechanical fit
SMOK directly presents TF-D with X-PRIV SOLO and X-PRIV PLUS kits. That is verified platform evidence. This guide does not generalize the tank to every mod, because safe use also depends on the received tank connection, installed coil, supported resistance, wattage capability and manufacturer instructions.
For a device outside those named kits, document the exact mod, connection, resistance range and power setting before making a recommendation. Do not use “it screws on” as the entire compatibility test.
Receive a 5.5mL order without mixing markets
- Match the supplier line to TF-D SUBTANK and the intended 5.5mL version.
- Confirm that the carton is a complete tank rather than glass or coils only.
- Record the included D-Coil resistance values without opening saleable stock.
- Verify the spare glass, seals, manual and any other contents against the exact supplier packing list.
- Photograph model, capacity, color and traceability labels needed for claims.
- Quarantine a 2mL or 3.5mL version when the order specifies 5.5mL.
SMOK’s official X-PRIV kit materials are market-specific and do not prove every independent 5.5mL retail box contains the same parts. Received packaging controls the sellable bundle.
Handle legacy demand as evidence, not inventory
Record requests for a TF-D tank, D-Coils, glass and seals separately. The old MG-9009 page redirect means a request cannot be converted into current availability. Use request counts to decide whether to source documented parts, publish a supported alternative or keep the item retired.
Browse current SMOK inventory and compare exact specifications; do not choose a replacement merely because another tank is from SMOK.
Add a dated U.S. authorization check
As checked on October 1, 2026, “SMOK TF-D” was not found by name on the current FDA authorized e-cigarette list. This observation does not by itself resolve component treatment, application status, marketability or state rules. Preserve the dated search and obtain appropriate compliance review before sourcing or resale.
Buyer questions
Is MG-9009 currently orderable from its old Midwest page?
No current order page was verified; the former URL redirects to the tank category.
Does TF-D use every SMOK coil?
No. Official materials specify the D-Coil Series.
Are all TF-D tanks 5.5mL?
No. SMOK lists 2mL, 3.5mL and 5.5mL market versions.
Can staff promise the independent box contents?
Only after verifying the exact supplier list or received carton.

Evidence review date: October 1, 2026. MG-9009 is treated as a legacy identity because its public product route redirects. Compatibility and availability require current exact-version evidence.
